Our First Lady”
Our First Lady stands at the pastor’s side as she ministers within the church. Singing in the choir, ministering at the altar, working with the youth, working on the Missionary Board, serving in Pastor’s Care Ministry, serving as our Church Decorator, studying the Word of God with us and giving us that beautiful smile that says “I love you!”
Today we honor our First Lady, Sister Barbara McLendon. As we honor the “Man of the Hour” for his accomplishments we also honor the “Woman of the Hour”. For no good man stands alone. First Lady Barbara, along side her husband and pastor, has made a great impact on this ministry. She has given her love and support to her husband and children as well as to each member of our church family. She’s the person on the other end of the phone when the pastor is working elsewhere in the vineyard. She is the one who offers comfort to those of us in emergency situations when the pastor is not at home. She is the one who prays right then and there when our hearts are heavy and we need just a little encouragement. She’s the one who takes the time and effort to get in touch with him and let him know our need. She’s the one who cares for the children while the pastor ministers to us. She’s the one who ensures that he has the things he needs in the home. And she’s the one who adds femininity to their ministry. King Solomon said in the book of Proverbs 31:10 “ Who can find a virtuous woman? for her price is far above rubies. The heart of her husband doth safely trust in her, so that he shall have no need of spoil. She will do him good and not evil all the days of her life”. For, she is indeed a virtuous woman.
We love you Sister Barbara and we want you to know that you have touched each of our lives in a special way. We will never take you for granted, for indeed it’s takes two to make the team. We thank you for all that you do for this Ministry and for all you do for our pastor. We salute “Our Woman of the Hour!” “Your Church Family”

Please know that you are my heart! For you are the woman of my dreams. You have given to me the family that I have always dreamed of. And each day I thank God for giving you to me. I love you Barbara! And I will forever love you. Thank you for being there for me!
